Unto the besieged populace of the Barony of Loch Salann do Hoggar and Bronwyn send greetings.
We are doing well and hope you are the same. It has been a very long month and quite frankly if locusts show up We’re outta here!
In these difficult times hard decisions have been made and events have had to be canceled. Fortunately we have been able to meet virtually and that keeps us together as a family. If you haven’t had the chance to take a class, drop in the Kingdom or the Baronial Discord channels, or participate in a zoom meeting please do so. It really does help.
At this point in time May events have been cancelled but We are still hoping that we will be able to have Melee Madness. The final decision will be made at the Populace meeting on May 13th via GoTo meeting. An event with the link should be posted on the Loch Salann FaceBook group page soon.
Melee happening will be dependent on the State’s recommendations for large gatherings and the opinion of the Populace. If we can actually meet for Melee Madness we will still be following CDC guidelines for social distancing and face masks will be in effect.
We are still moving forward with plans for Baron’s War/Kings Road/Kingdom Arts and Sciences the 17th-19th of July. Again this is dependent upon the States recommendations for large gatherings and the traditional Burger Burn Friday night will not be happening.
The Utah Renaissance Faire is also deciding what will happen with their event. The most recent information We have is; if they are unable to have the fair on Aug 28 & 29 they will look for different dates later in the year or postpone until 2021. We should still plan our Demo for the Ren Faire as if it is still happening and adjust as we need to.
We wish we could be more definite in how the next few months are going to go and that We could give you firm answers as to what is happening but everything is dependent on how long it takes for the civil authorities to open up the State to large gatherings.
Baronial business is still moving forward during quarantine and We would like to thank Aife ingen Muiredaig for taking on the office of Herald. Lady Alfdis has offered to be the new Archery Captain. We thank them for their service and look forward to working with them. We also thank Lord Chagatai and Master Ryryd for their service. There are several other officers that are looking for replacements as their warrants are expired or expiring. The Chronicler, the Webminister, and the Exchequer are just a few. The Barony runs on volunteers and we do need everyone’s help.
We asked for letters of intent for Baron and Baroness and we are pleased to announce that Count Raven and Countess Sajah have answered. There is a meet and greet scheduled to happen at Melee Madness for everyone to have a chance to talk to them about their plans are for the Barony. If We have to cancel Melee Madness a virtual meet and greet will be arraigned. A vote of confidence will happen in person at Baron’s War/King’s Road. If we have to cancel the a mail in voting will happen. Thank you Raven and Sajah for your service.
