Unto the Most Ancient Barony of Loch Salann do We, Dunkr and Owna send greetings!
The mountains around the Loch are ablaze with the colors of autumn and it will be only a matter of weeks before the legendary snows of Artemisia began filling the air and we will be celebrating the Solstice and our successors, Ælwyn and Amanda de Spencer! We wish to thank Raven and Sajah and Vlad and Arabella for their willingness to step into this vital role for our group and Kingdom.
Harvest War was, as usual, an amazing time. Wonderful fighting, wonderful times spent with friends, and a chance to try new things! Thanks to Count Ravan’s household for hosting the Lochtoberfest Party and thank you to everyone who came out to try Viking Marco Polo! As our last camping event, it was quite memorable. Crown was our last “long” trip, and it did not disappoint. Fantastic and honorable fighting, wonderful performances for Bard, and a great time all around. Congrats to TRH Daman and Veronique!
Our last 5 event are planned, starting with Autumn Ball in Gryphon’s Lair in October. Join us for dancing and the selection of the Gourd Lord in what will surely be an entertaining day! Following that will be Collegium, also in Gryphon’s Lair. The class list is building and it looks to be a fantastic event. Come and join us in support of our neighbors and Kingdom!
Following Collegium is Toys for Tots in our favorite Provence! Last year the Barony nearly broke the table with our donations! This year, I would love to see us do even better and donate at least 200 toys from our Barony! The weekend after that will be Baronial Birthday in 1000 Eyes. Come and join us as we congratulate Thomas and Symon on 1 year, and wish them well as the soon to be senior Baronial couple in the Kingdom!
After that, come wish us a happy departure and support the new Baron and Baroness at Solstice, December 12th, at Holy Trinity Church 279 300 W, Salt Lake. HE Sheelaegh and Lord Jevan have a full day of games, court, and standard Solstice happenings. Their Royal majesties will be discussing the upcoming calendar changes with the populace and announcing any changes that will be taking place in 2017. Finally, stay for a fantastic feast prepared by Johann. I have tested this, and it will be AMAZING!!!
We are currently looking for a new Chatelaine, as Her Excellency Vigdis has served well beyond her two years and is deserving of a rest.
The rest of our officer corp. is stable and looking for deputies in nearly every office. If you have ever wanted to help server your Barony, taking the role as a deputy is a great way to learn how!
As we prepare to hand the reigns over to Ælwyn and Amanda, this will be the last missive you will receive from us. It has been a pleasure to serve you all, and we want to thank you all. There are not adequate words to describe the support and appreciation we have felt over the past two years. While the future is always uncertain, we hope to have the opportunity to serve you all and the Kingdom again in the near future.
