Greetings to the great and noble populace of the barony of Loch Salann.
Your barony needs you!! It may seem like nothing is going on right now (because, well, there isn’t a lot going on right now) BUT the barony needs to keep moving forward so that when we can get back to playing, we are ready to go.
We are currently in need of volunteers (and accepting LOI’s) for the following positions:
Exchequer – We need several deputies for this position with someone that will eventually take Aingeal’s place. Duties include managing the monthly expenditures and income, writing checks for sites/reimbursements/other approved expenses, keeping good records to report to the financial committee every month and to the kingdom exchequer. NOTE: training will be provided in depth.
Baronial Chatelaine – Immediate need – We currently do not have a chatelaine. Duties include greeting new comers and answering their questions, setting up demos, helping people get loaner garb to attend events, and general liaison between the SCA and those who are new would like to participate.
Baronial Seneschal – Deputy needed to assume the position of Seneschal in March 2021. LOI for this position would not be due for several months. Duties include monthly populace and officer meetings to assess the needs of the barony and the current state of affairs, address issues that may arise and work with other officers and the baron/baroness to resolve them, reviewing event submissions, and reporting to the kingdom seneschal on the current affairs of the barony.
Quartermaster – Count Sir Raven is the current quartermaster and will be stepping down in December to take on other rolls within the barony. Accepting LOI’s for this position now. Duties include keeping track of baronial regalia and, in general, the stuff of the barony.
Social media officer – Immediate need – manage the barony’s social media sites. Duties include posting to official sites and non-official sites and generally making the barony look awesome online.
Web Minister – Immediate need – Current web ministers warrant has expired and they would like to step down now. Duties include keeping the baronial website up to date, posting missives from the baron and baroness, officers, event announcements, etc. and keeping the calendar up to date.
Chronicler – Immediate need – Current Chronicler’s warrant has expired and they would also like to step down now. This position creates the Questing Quill on a quarterly basis. (reports for this office are due quarterly, not monthly)
Rapier Marshal – Immediate need – Current marshal is stepping down as of June 31, 2020. Duties include keeping loaner gear for newcomers and bringing it to practice, understand marshalate rules for rapier fighting, issuing fighter authorization cards, reporting to seneschal every month and to kingdom officer. NOTE: We have one LOI already submitted. We are waiting to see if anyone else wants to submit for this position.
Officers are requested and HIGHLY encouraged to participate every month in the populace meeting. This is where we listen to any concerns and address issues. It helps the barony stay cohesive and functional. This is in addition to the submitted report.
