Unto the populace of the noblest Barony of Loch Salann Hoggar and Bronwyn send greetings.
It is the end of another year and the end of the era of Aeylwin and Amanda. We would like to thank them for serving the Barony so well. We are grateful to you, the populace, for allowing us to serve you as the new face of the Barony.
It has been a whirlwind since Harvest War when the vote of confidence was announced. We had a lovely time at Toys for Tots visiting friends and enjoying the intimate feast served family style. Sadly the Provence of Arrow’s Flight has reclaimed the Sword. We challenge the Barony to assist us in recovering the Sword next year and bringing it back to the Barony where it belongs. Let us all join in the cause to help those less fortunate give their children a wonderful Christmas.
In mid-November, while Bronwyn headed north to Silver Keep to the Kingdom Arts and Sciences competition Hoggar attended the Baronial Populace meeting at the home of Their Excellences Aeylwin and Amanda.
As of this writing, Solstice Court is fast approaching. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Barony of Loch Salann and Solstice shall be a grand event celebrating the history of our Barony with many displays; please bring items to show. There will be an Arts and Sciences display themed Then and Now. Our own Musicians Guild will be providing live dance music. His Excellency Aeylwin will be teaching a dance class so there is no reason not to dance. There will be period games, youth activities, a visit from Father Christmas, a grand procession, and a scavenger hunt based on the history of our wonderful Barony and of course our investiture. We look forward to seeing you all there.
After a Holiday Season spent with family and friends we will have the annual Newcomers and Awardees reception on January 6th. Their Excellences Aeylwin and Amanda have graciously opened their home one last time for this event. Please invite all newcomers to meet and mingle in a less formal setting than an event.
On January 12th we will join Gryphon’s Lair in celebrating 12 Night and January 26th we will be attending Masked Ball up in Arn Hold. We hope many of you can join us in the revelry.
At Harvest War, His Majesty sent out a call to arms to the battlefield at Estrella War. We are taking up his call and invite all who can go to WAR! For those who must stay home to protect our Barony, there is a demo February 22nd and 23rd at the Mountain America Exposition Center. The theme is Camelot and the goal is to bring The Dream alive for the public. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
As always the Barony is looking for deputies for its officers. If you’d like to know more about how the Barony has lasted for 40 years please volunteer to assist our amazing officer corps.
