There are a few events coming up that we would like to let everyone know about, the thirteenth annual Awardees and Newcomers Reception is to be held on January 6th at the home of Their Excellency’s Aelwyn and Amanda. If you just found our group this is an excellent way to get to know local members in a relaxed atmosphere without all the hustle and bustle of a big event.
We look forward to seeing all our officers and any interested members of the populous at Forum on the 9th of January at 7pm at our humble estates.
We will be joining our Cousins from Gryphon’s Lair for the 12 Night event and our Cousins from Arn Hold for Masked Ball. We hope to see some of you there.
His Majesty sent out a call to arms to the battlefield at Estrella War. We are taking up his call and invite all who can go to WAR! For those who must stay home to protect our Barony, there is a demo February 22nd and 23rd at the Mountain America Exposition Center. The theme is Camelot and the goal is to bring The Dream alive for the public. Information has been posted on the Barony of Loch Salann FaceBook group. Questions should be directed to Lady Elayne Chisholme the Deputy Chatelaine.
One of the old traditions we would like to bring back to our Barony is the Baroness Champion tournament. This tournament is for unbelted fighters to show off their martial skills and display knowledge in the Arts and Sciences. If you wish to enter this tournament you must present a Bardic piece (a song, some poetry, a reading, a scene from a play, etc) and a crafted item (an illumination piece, some weaving, new garb). No documentation is required but a small note telling us what, where, and when this item would be found in period will be helpful. Never fear this tournament will be held at Baron’s War in July so there is plenty of time to prepare.
We need award recommendations. Please rat out your friends who have done something amazing and no one knows about it. Email award recommendations to Baron@ loch-salann.org or Baroness @ loch-salann.org. It will be just between us.
